They said it werenít that bad.
miles and its all been down hill.
Doiní the switchbacks,
Carriní my backpack.
Itís 3 p.m. And itís hotter than hell.
Hopiní the cantina, isnít yet closed,
Somebody said itís only 2 miles ahead,
donít know, that was 5 hours ago.
Toe nails are achiní
Bodyís been bakiní
Iím likiní the looks of that cool lookiní stream.
Peeliní my socks off,
moleskins all fell off,
Raw spots on my feet, made it hard not to scream.
Dreaminí of ice cold beer down at the phantom ranch.
Hopiní the cantina, isnít yet closed.
Somebody said itís only two miles ahead,
Spent the day chilliní
Cantina was jamminí
Wrote up this song, we all sang along.
beer crave abbated,
This song got created,
Singing along with friends down at the
Drinking beer and playiní with this old
Hikiní out tomorrow on the bright angel
And i hope, that it wonít be too hard.
Iíve hit the devilís corkscrew
Feeling the hiking dew
Wishin i was closer to indian garden
The temperatures climing
And so are we whining
The aches and the pains are starting anew
Dreaminí of ice cold beer at bright angel lodge.
Hopiní the cantina isnít out of beer.
The mule shitís increasing
The sssun, itís a beating
The flys will consume us if we stop
are gettin nearer
The arches are much clearer
might just make it to that great bar
Wasted away again in bright angel lodge
Drinking beers with friends from afar
Some people said it was only 2 miles ahead
But we know, it was too damn far.
